Optum Command Center Wall - measure the impact
A foundational enterprise capability that provides a holistic view of our key performance indicators, operational intelligence, work force management and performance monitoring. It encompasses a two story interactive visualization that displays up-to-date enterprise-wide metrics. (Optum, UnitedHealthcare and UnitedHealth Group.
Design Methodology
Given the large scale of the display, it is important that we make the data as easy to view and comprehend as possible. Using color to highlight data insights and allow other supporting metrics to fade into the background.

Concept Brainstorm
I like to begin my process with sketching out wireframes/white-boarding. It’s important to identify who our end users are and what they value. Product owners and subject matter experts provide mvp criteria for me to begin ideating.

Final Design
I have broken this section into two parts: Project Concept Summary and Full Page Implemented Designs. It’s important to provide your end users with an overarching marketing concept prior to jumping into a clickable reporting dashboard. This complex dashboard tackles a 4 step cyclical process that answers the following questions: 1. What clinicians need help using the EMR and with what? 2. How can we help them improve? 3. When can we schedule that help? 4. How do we measure success?
